CUBAN BASEBALL ALL STAR GAME
CUBAN BASEBALL 2019
The six teams that advanced to the second phase of the Cuban Baseball National Series have made their choices for roster supplementation from players that were on teams that did not advance to the second phase. Five of the teams choose 3 pitchers from the five players that are allowed, except Havana which choose four pitchers and the league’s leading hitter Frederich Cepeda. Matanzas selected pitcher Freddy Asiel Alvarez who leads the league with a 1.78 ERA, and Santiago de Cuba chose the league’s best closer, Carlos Santana.
ADD BASEBALL GAME TO YOUR CUBA TRIP
The Cuban National Baseball Series played its’ 2019 all-star game on Sunday, and unlike the U.S. where there are two leagues, in Cuba the teams are divided into western Cuba and eastern Cuba. The eastern teams won 3-0, and second phase of the season kicks-off on October 27th, with all six teams playing that day. There will be baseball in Havana through December, and a game at El Cerro Stadium always makes for a great addition to any Cuba tour.
